PhD Studentship
I am currently offering a fully-funded PhD studentship to work with me at the JHI on:
"The Origins and Dynamics of Astrophysical Jets".
In previous work we have shown how astrophysical jet structures can be constructed from gravitational pulses and offer a viable scheme worthy of further exploration. This project aims to develop the work with the inclusion of a rotating black hole and its accretion disc to model the jet structures recently observed by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration in the nearby Messier 87 galaxy. The model can then be used to provide observational signatures for analysing other jet structures in the Universe and to yield insights into the extreme objects that power them.

The deadline for applications is Friday 2nd June 2023. More information on the stipend, proposed project and how to apply can be found here. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
